Burg Ingenhoven
About This Spot
Stepping into Burg Ingenhoven is like entering a quiet chapter of history, where the charm of a centuries-old building gently intertwines with the warm pulse of a dining room filled with soft murmur and the occasional clink of glasses. Nestled on Burgstraße in Nettetal, this German restaurant offers a calm, reflective atmosphere that invites guests to slow down and savor moments as much as the meal itself.
The setting is intimate yet unpretentious, framed by the historic walls dating back to 1403 and surrounded by the serene greenery of a nearby park. Here, the mood leans toward relaxed elegance — not rushed, quietly refined, and easy to settle into whether you arrive for a leisurely brunch or an evening dinner. Service flows attentively without ever feeling intrusive, letting you enjoy your space and time in good company or peaceful solitude.
The kitchen honors tradition with dishes that speak to the heart of regional German cuisine, but also carry personal touches that make the experience distinctive. You might find yourself lingering over a tender Sauerbraten, where the slow-cooked flavors echo the care of old recipes, or savoring a delicate balance of wild game paired with soft, buttery Spätzle that comforts and surprises. Lighter moments come through seasonal touches—a fresh Carpaccio dressed simply or a delicate asparagus panna cotta reflecting the rhythm of changing ingredients.
Desserts here offer gentle conclusions to a meal, with classic notes like crème brûlée that crack under a caramelized layer to reveal creamy sweetness beneath, or Topfenknödel paired with seasonal fruit bringing a homely but refined finish. Salads and sides arrive as companions rather than afterthoughts, thoughtfully chosen to complement rather than crowd the plate.
Part of Burg Ingenhoven’s quiet appeal is the feeling that you’re participating in a small, local tradition—one where the building’s history meets the everyday human moments of breaking bread and sharing stories. It’s a place where the pace is measured, the ambiance comforting, and the cuisine heartfelt, crafting a dining experience that feels less like a performance and more like coming home.
If you're seeking a spot where the old meets the intimate, and where each visit lets you discover a little more, Burg Ingenhoven quietly waits in Nettetal’s embrace.

Very nice ambiance and service. However the food is mediocre for the price you pay and there is no children's menu nor many vegan options

Nice that locations such as this one still exist and are managed.

If more stars could be given, this restaurant would achieve more definitely! Food, vibe, classical but elegant and service are top notch!

We went for the New Year Brunch. The atmosphere was relaxed. The staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. The Brunch was excellent, the soup was so flavoursome, the starter buffet had a good selection of freshly prepared fish, vegetable and meats. The main course for us was duck, it,was fantastic, tge sweet was a fruit compote with ice cream, perfect to end a meal

Best restaurant in the area by far. The old building from 1403 is beautiful. The restaurant is situated in a park next to a church. The food is really nice, unlike other high cuisine restaurants you actually come out with a full stomach.
